Diazepam Detox

With the abrupt discontinuation of diazepam, there a symptoms many side effects to take into consideration, these may include but are not limited to: abdominal and muscle cramps, convulsions, sweating, tremors, vomiting, fatigue, anxiety, blurred vision, confusion, constipation, depression, dizziness, double vision, hallucinations, headache, sleep disturbances and vertigo.

Prolonged use of diazepam can eventually change the brain in fundamental ways, which explains why those dependent on or addicted to this drug cannot simply quit without professional help.

The first stage of becoming free from this drug is the detox period, this is essential before it is possible to move onto the next step, which would be rehabilitation. Although the detox itself is not a treatment for addiction, it can help relieve withdrawal symptoms while the patient adjusts to being diazepam free. We would not recommend the abrupt discontinuation of this drug, due to the extensive possible withdrawal symptoms. It is usual and much safer for people to follow the tapering down process under medical supervision.

At The Referral Network we are able to advise users on detox and the options available, and then refer a user to the most appropriate treatment taking into consideration their personal requirements and circumstances.
